We are a Section 8 New Construction property in Georgetown. New Construction properties are a type of property-based Section 8.
This means is that the rents are subsidized by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to make them more affordable for families with limited incomes and the tenants pay no more than 30% of their monthly income for rent.
Shady Oaks was built in 1974 on the west side of I35 in Georgetown, and has 60 duplex apartments. The apartments are a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom units and are home to elderly residents, disabled residents, and families. Currently, we maintain a 99% occupancy rate and our waiting list is approximately 18 to 24 months long.
The apartments received brand new interiors, including new kitchens, bathrooms and floors. A new front and back porch was built for every apartment, new sidewalks were poured, and every unit was repainted a new color.
We are currently accepting applications for the waiting list. Rents are based on your income and are approximately 30% of your gross monthly income. All applicants must meet eligibility criteria.
